# Individual social icon colors

## Why

Moving Bluesky into the brand navigation bar made it stand out. We want the option to use recognizable social brand colors, rather than giving every social icon the same inherited color.

## Proposed controls

For each social icon, in either the navigation bar or Discourse header:

- Choose **Theme** , **Social brand color** or **Custom**.
- Set separate **normal** and **hover/focus** colors, with color pickers and direct entry in Appearance.
- Default new, recognized social icons to their brand color, with theme fallback for other icons.
- Preserve existing configurations and their current appearance.

## Feedback wanted

Should hover keep the social brand color or use a different color? Which defaults would work best against your forum’s background? Share the social icons and examples you would use.
